Yaksa
(skt) Yakkha (p): Dạ Xoa—A swift (extremely fast), powerful kind of
ghost or demon, which is usually harmful, but in some cases acts as a protector
of the Dharma or guardians of Heaven’s gates. Some defines Yaksa as a
divine being of great power, or non-human who ranks between man and Gandharva
(gandhabba)—Một loài quỷ nhanh nhẹn và có khả năng làm hại
con người, nhưng trong vài trường hợp Dạ Xoa là những chúng
sanh hộ pháp hay là người giữ cửa Trời. Một số người
định nghĩa Dạ Xoa như là những vị thần có sức mạnh vô
song, hay là loài phi nhơn có vị trí giữa con người và Càn

Yasas
(skt): The sixth disciple of the Buddha—Da Xá, đệ tử thứ sáu
của Đức Phật.
After
the attaining enlightenment and emancipation at Bodhi-Gaya, the Buddha
went to Kasi city, there he met a young man called Yasas. Because his beloved
girlfriend turned her affection to someone else, he was upset and disturbed
to the point of mental breakdown. He just ran about aimlessly trying to
vent his anger. Fortunately, Yasas met the solemn and dignified Buddha
once. After he listened to the Dharma and the Buddha’s teachings, he
came to know that everything in this world was impermanent and nothing
stayed together for long. So he knelt on the ground and requested ordination.
He eventualy became the Buddha’s sixth disciple—Sau khi giác ngộ
và giải thoát tại Bồ Đề đạo tràng, Đức Phật đi đến
thành Ca Thi, tại đây Ngài gặp một thiếu niên tên Da Xá.
Do bị người yêu ruồng rẫy nên hết sức bi phẫn muộn phiền,
đến nỗi tâm thần bấn loạn, chạy lang thang đây đó cho
đở buồn. May mắn, Da Xá gặp được Phật Đà trang nghiêm,
nghe được lời giảng pháp của Đức Phật nên thấu triệt
rằng tất cả vạn sự vạn vật trên thế gian đều vô thường,
không có gì bền lâu, nên Da Xá quỳ xuống chân Thế Tôn khẩn
cầu Ngài cho xuất gia để trở thành đệ tử thứ sáu của
Phật.
